The August bank holiday weekend saw an amazing turnout for Wistow’s second annual Summer Doubles Tournament. With a record 22 players eager to etch their name on the trophy for 2022.

After some head-scratching over the adapted American Tournament rules, the action kicked off in the sizzling summer sunshine.

Spurred on by a smorgasbord of home cooked treats and a tantalising order of Dominos Pizza, play continued well into the evening with players giving it their all.

As the light faded, a singles play-off between Henry and Dave saw Henry crowned men’s champion for 2022, with Ali taking a well deserved victory in the ladies. Runners up were Pam and Dave, with Julie and Rex completing the podium line-up.
