Wistow’s mixed doubles team celebrate a victorious 2022 tennis season!

Wistow’s mixed team had a a fantastic season in 2022, finishing in top spot of division 7 in the York and district Mixed Tennis league. With ten victories over the season, the title was secured with a game to spare. The team lift the trophy this season and move up to division 6 next year.

We’d like to thank everyone who played for Wistow this season – captain Lucy Falkingham, Julie O’Neil, Ali Wortley, Sue Hudson, Andy Rudd, Nick Clemishaw, John Prickett, Henry Hackwell and Brian Hackwell, who all put in amazing performances to secure the title.

We’re always on the lookout for new players, especially for a potential second mixed team for the 2023 season. If you’d like to join us, please get in touch!

The team later picked up the Division 7 trophy at the annual club meeting held at Wigginton sports club in York in October.
